After years in the traditional furniture retail business and witnessing the incredible amount of waste in all areas of the business I decided there had to be a better way. Conventional furniture retail entails large warehouse type showrooms where you hoped the buyers had selected this year’s “best sellers”. If they were right, congratulations you had the same piece of furniture as many others. If they were wrong, time for a sale where you may get 20%,40% or even 60% off. I don’t know about you but when I see 60% off I get concerned. The environmental impact of these vast showrooms with heating, cooling, and lighting is also significant.

Wood Wise, the better way. Small showroom, small overhead and cost efficient while offering complete creative control to produce quality furniture that is designed and hand crafted to meet your unique individual needs.

Furniture is my personal passion. Just as a fashion designer begins with raw cloth and through inspiration creates beautiful clothing. Or a chef who begins with raw foods and through insight and experimentation produces mouth watering meals. Furniture to me is a creative process. The colour of the raw wood, the grain, the imperfections, the sought after functionality, the crafting, the shaping, the sanding and the finishing inspire me. The creation of Wood Wise is my means of sharing my enthusiasm with everyone. Your ideas whether fully formed, or vague, combined with my passion will lead to the creation of something beautiful in its form and function that you will cherish for years and hopefully pass on to future generations.
